Guiding principles

The Altira Group – Entrepreneurial asset management

The Altira Group is an owner-managed, listed asset management company focusing on alternative investment strategies for institutional and private investors.

Experts in growth markets

The Altira Group focuses both on established and newly developing future-oriented growth markets. In their respective promising environments, the investment teams of the Altira Group apply their specialised knowledge, many years of experience and entrepreneurial thinking and action by utilising an active investment approach (“high alpha strategies”) to achieve sustainable above-average returns.

Independent investment teams supported by institutional infrastructure

The Altira Group investment teams make independent investment decisions and use their own branding to present themselves to the market. They also hold investments at the company or product level and operate under a long-term performance-related incentive system to ensure that their interests are aligned with those of the investors. At the same time, the investment teams all make use of the Group’s professional institutional infrastructure that provides, among other things, risk management, finance/controlling, legal, marketing and sales (support), and IT services. This ensures stability and high-quality service, particularly with regard to the transparency of investor communications. Additional benefits arise from the use of a large common network, and from other synergies and economies of scale. In addition, the Altira Group generally acts as a seed investor for the products offered by its investment teams in order to ensure an alignment of interests between the investors in these products and the Group’s shareholders.

Objective of the Altira Group: create added value for investors

The structure and culture of the Altira Group allow it to combine asset management expertise with entrepreneurship. The Group uses this approach to pursue its objective of creating sustainable added value for its demanding investors, such as the Silvia Quandt Family, which is both a shareholder of the Altira Group and an investor in the products offered by its investment teams.

In accomplishing this task, the management of the Altira Group is assisted by distinguished finance and business experts, such as Axel-Günter Benkner, former CEO of DWS Investment GmbH, Peter E. Merian, former CEO of Sarasin Bank, and Prof. Dr. h. c. Hans-Olaf Henkel, former president of the Federation of German Industry (BDI) and CEO of IBM Deutschland GmbH.
